We are an accredited training practice and we take on final year medical students, junior hospital doctors and GP Registrars. GP registrars are fully qualified doctors who work in General Practice for 2 years in order to specialise as a General Practitioner.
We also have final year medical students on 1 month clinical placements prior to them graduating as doctors, and second year hospital doctors who are with us for 3 month attachments in order to gain a greater appreciation of general practice.
All training students and doctors are supervised by one of the regular doctors at Mapua Health Centre and often the supervising doctor will come in for part or all of the consultation. We greatly appreciate your co-operation with this training programme.
